The History of High Road Automotive

Founded by twin brothers Tom and Fred Wilson with their longtime friend, Randy Gaebler, High Road Automotive began operations as "Dr. Honda" in 1984. The tiny, two-bay shop in Ballard flourished as its reputation for consistently high-quality work and superb customer service grew. In 1988, the company relocated to a larger facility in Ballard, and in 1990 it was renamed High Road Automotive. Randy Gaebler eventually moved to Colorado and sold his share in the company to the Wilson brothers, who have led High Road continuously since that time. For over twenty-five years, High Road Automotive has exceeded the market in customer care, preventive maintenance, and environmentally sound business practices.

In the summer of 2003, Adam Wilson, the son of Fred Wilson, began building the software now used by High Road Automotive. The culmination of this work, which included the entire team at High Road, occurred on January 3rd 2005 with the launch of the first version of Technique. High Road continues to use this software to serve our customers beyond the status quo and is in the process of developing a second version of Technique that will be available to the public.

Early in 2010, based on five years of experience developing and using our own software, High Road Automotive made the decision to expand into the commercial software market and begin selling the software that we have created over years of development. A new division, named Prospective Software and led by Adam Wilson, was created to develop and manage these projects.
